That’s right – it’s October, the weather is turning, and you really want to be finding somewhere nice and warm to have a few beers (in a COVID safe way of course). Ascot Beer Festival


Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd October, 160 different beers, ciders and perries, including some festival specials. Dress smart apparently!

Dolphin brewery

Darlings of the local beer scene, Dolphin Brewery are releasing two new beers at Reading Farmers Market on Saturday morning from 8:30am with a coffee stout and a blackcurrant sour/saison blend



Oktoberfest in a car park

Thursday 7th to Saturday 9th October: Once again Hills Meadow car park is turned into something that almost resembles a Bavarian beer tent. Tickets here

Are you listening? Festival


Not strictly a beer event, but it does take place in Face Bar, Milk, The Oakford, Purple Turtle (as well as some non-pubs), and it’s all in aid of charity. The best music festival in Reading is on the 9th October, and tickets are still available.
